Nature definitely seems very confused lately. Strawberries in November is very unusual. I wonder if they will taste sweeter than usual. Grapes get sweeter the longer they stay on the vine, as I know from a wine-tasting talk.
The two strawberries make me think of Mr & Mrs Dunham lying in bed together on a Sunday morning. I have thought of two word balloons to add but I do not wish to cause offence so I have censored myself.
I welcome comments and hope to respond within a day or two, but my condition is making this increasingly difficult. Some days I might not look here at all. Also please note that comments on posts over two weeks old will not appear until they have been moderated.
How was the flavour?
ReplyDeleteDon't know yet. Won't be surprised if very little.
DeleteThey were delicious.
DeleteThis truly is a last hurrah. That's a spring berry.
ReplyDeleteIf only it were spring with good weather on the way.
DeleteWowser...That is a surprise!!!! Any tomatoes out there? Go look. Just to be sure.
ReplyDeleteBrought all the tomatoes in to ripen in paper bags. We still have lots.
Delete*sigh*
DeleteYes, very late -- but so luscious looking!
ReplyDeleteAnd we were surprised by how good they were.
DeleteSame here with roses, they certainly benefited from what was mostly a sunny and mild to warm month here.
ReplyDeleteYes, lots of days with sunny periods.
DeleteDid the blackbirds miss them I wonder? Enjoy, dipped in granulated sugar.
ReplyDeleteBlackbirds seem to have gone into the fields for now, another indication of how mild it has been.

ReplyDeleteThere have been a lot of strawberries forming, but going mouldy before ripening. These two did ripen.
DeleteWe still have a couple of raspberries hanging on. What a confused year it has been.
ReplyDeleteOur raspberries always produce one or two late fruit.

ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine what you mean.
DeleteThey look small. I've always found large to be overrated. Nice to imagine though.
ReplyDeleteAverage. Supermarket strawberries tend to be enormous, and tasteless.
