Note with it: Ticket (£1.10) and promotional beer mat. Barclay James Harvest. Spring Tour 74. I went with Bob S- to see them at Leeds Town Hall on Tuesday 25th June as he had a spare ticket. We were fairly near the front and I was pretty deaf for a day or two. The ticket has the top corner torn off on admission.
The drummer was very exuberant: arms all over the place.

Ticket and a beer mat -- the perfect combo!
ReplyDeleteYou weren't allowed to use them at the same time.
DeleteWish I still had some concerts memorabilia Tasker. Thanks for writing a blog for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is the only concert I have anything for. They made a great sound, soaring prog. rock guitar, keyboard chords, clever bass and drums, but I don't think they were sufficiently distinctive or original enough to become really big. I see they are doing a concert in September near here with the Slaithwaite Philharmonic, but I'm not well enough to go.
DeleteWhat a nice link-up of blogs! I personally am surprised that you were able to locate these things and get a post up so quickly. I'd be dumbing around mumbling, "I know these things are around here someplace!"
ReplyDeleteI've been sorting quite a lot of old things out recently, reducing several envelopes of stuff down to one, so I knew exactly where it was.
DeleteF recalls going to gigs where the 'day after deafness' was a feature. Did we rezlly enjoy that part of the experience?
ReplyDeleteIt put me off going for a while. Ever since I make sure I have cotton wool or tissues with me to stuff in my ears. It was especially needed a couple of years ago when we saw Focus, and it amazed me that some idiots were standing right in front of the loudspeakers.
DeleteSadly at 90 I think that sort of assault on my ears would finish me off.
ReplyDeleteMe too - see response to preceding comment.
