If you are not seeing the YouTube video after the 7 photographs of flowers blooming unseasonally in our garden, here is the link: https://youtu.be/xjG_VB-la7o
With our temps reaching down to -3c the last few nights and not much above 0 the rest of the day, I was surprised to find two pots of geraniums blooming (in our garage). Same for a potted Gerbera daisy. But can't say any flowering items outside have withstood those temps.
I've been trying to think through how you go about putting something like that together, and I think you have to start from the initial idea for rewriting the song before you start to look for suitable clips, although I suppose you can change the words if you find better clips.
That video took a lot of time to put together, I would think. Clever it is! I have one little violet blossom blooming in my garden which is surprising for Illinois (USA) in December. Thanks for sharing!
I'm surprised. They're all self-employed round here, even "employees" because of such things as happened to my hairdresser when she had to pay maternity pay for months out of a two-hairdresser business reduced to one.
Thwere should be 7 pictures of flowers that are still blooming in our garden followed by a YouTube video - if you are not getting it here is the link: https://youtu.be/xjG_VB-la7o
Pleased to amuse - haven't looked back yet. Things about the video I like: the script and selection of course, the autotuning, the echoes on the voices at the beginning, Gove slightly out of tune (must be deliberate), the quick clip of Boris giving a little prayer, the harmonised voices e.g. Priti Patel and Rishi Sunak, the Big Ben Bells in the background, Rees-Mogg eyebrow raising and really not caring (thank god it's them instead of you, whoaaa), "Governmental perks, like the app that didn't work" I know some people will dismiss it a lefty satire, but I'd say people have every right to take the piss out of them after yesterday's debacle. They knew the rates were out of control and did nothing until too late, after people had made plans and spent money.
I welcome comments and hope to respond within a day or two, but my condition is making this increasingly difficult. Some days I might not look here at all. Also please note that comments on posts over two weeks old will not appear until they have been moderated.
The best thing I've seen all week!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise our garden was so impressive.

ReplyDeleteActually, the geranium picture is a cheat because it is inside the greenhouse, but all the others are outside.
DeleteVery clever rewrite!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
I thought it incredibly clever and very very funny.
DeleteGreat blog title.
ReplyDeleteWell, they're all supposed to be either dormant or dead.
DeleteHa-ha! I could wet myself laughing at that video if it weren't so bloody tragic!
ReplyDeleteP.S. How come there are no garden gnomes in your garden?
You don't need gnomes when you have hedgehogs.
DeleteMy hairdressers were pleased with furlough.
ReplyDeleteProbably more pleased with SEISS. I know some might think the video cynical and unhelpful but it's very well made.
DeleteFurlough. They are not self-employed. I thought the video well made but I like to recognise positives where they exist.
DeleteI'm surprised. They're all self-employed round here, even "employees" because of such things as happened to my hairdresser when she had to pay maternity pay for months out of a two-hairdresser business reduced to one.
DeleteI was surprised too. They have a hidden boss and they are employees on PAYE.
DeleteSo, no snow yet, eh?
ReplyDeleteWhat more do you want? Fireworks?
DeleteIs it Springtime already up there?
ReplyDeleteYounger than springtime.
DeleteFlowers?! Well that's nice. We won't see them here for at least three or four months. I love the video! That's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteClever what you can do with auto-tuning software. Evidently Britney Spears uses it all the time.
DeleteIt must be lovely chasing flowers, I notice the wild life are chewing the primroses, wretched slugs.
ReplyDeleteWell observed. I think I'd be suffering from various pests and diseases if I was still outside.
DeleteMy Night-Scented Stock is still flowering in the window box.
ReplyDeleteSome in the second picture are ordinary stock.
DeleteWhat video are we talking about? I am seeing a series of very nice stills of flowers.

DeleteI'll also edit it in above.
DeleteThey don't know, they don't care. They live in the moment. As and when.
ReplyDeleteYour comment over at YP's last offering outdoing his flights of fancy. Thanks for an enduring laugh.

DeleteI meant to add "and so do the flowers"
DeleteThank you for the update. I've now seen the video. The link didn't appear earlier when I was in here. Yes, well written, and all too true.
ReplyDeleteAnd so quickly out of date in some of its details.
DeleteNo, they do not! These flowers look like they'd be right at home in my back garden here in SF.
ReplyDeleteThen be sure to wear some in your hair, and you'll meet some gentle people there - people in motion.
DeleteThis year has confused everyone and everything! Love the video.
ReplyDeleteThere are also some other rather good ones made by the same outfit.
