Naughty to post this because it is not my video. I might have to remove it.
The folk ensemble when I was still just well enough to attend. A bit untogether, but I miss it. This is from a Cèilidh rehearsal, but which is me, and which is Mrs. D.? Playing a life Cèilidh can be hilarious, especially when people get mixed up, or seem not to know their right from their left: "Next, link your right arms ... no, not that right arm, your other right arm."
I am finding it difficult to respond to comments at the moment.
It seems to happen so much more in your country that young people get involved in what might here be described as 'older persons stuff'.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are on the better side now.
Glad you're feeling well enough to post! I enjoyed both these videos -- what a fun ensemble to be a part of, it must be marvelous!
ReplyDeleteI was looking for you both and picked out the two youngest performers there.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good time was being had by all.
Thanks for sharing these videos. I imagine that you are the elegant fellow playing guitar - back left in a grey jumper with a tartan scarf. And I imagine that Mrs Cleopatra Dunham is the lady on the back row far left playing what I think is a mandolin. She is wearing a creamy white jumper. I like the disciplined sound the ceilidh band were making. They seem such a characterful lot - individuals working together.
ReplyDeleteLater... after searching for "bassoon" in your blog, I realise that your missus is actually the bassoon lady!
DeleteThat looks like great fun and your group is doing a very good job! I don't know which ones are you and Mrs. D., tho.
ReplyDeleteI found you, but I don't know that you've ever posted a picture of Mrs D. I can't be sure of that, but I am sure glad to see a post from you!
ReplyDeleteHA!!!! I figured it out. Mrs. D is the one playing the bassoon!!!!
Delete(Is there a prize?)
Delightful performance and what fun to be part of this. I hope you're soon well enough to do more of it. I enjoyed both these videos. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAnd please don't fret about replies. My gosh. Enjoy your comments and turn your attention to that which requires attention. Your motley crew will be fine on our own!
ReplyDeleteThrilled to see your post today! Delightful videos, and although I believe I found you (back row, grey jumper on guitar), I have no idea as to which lady is Mrs. D.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourself and Mrs. D.
And don't fret over not answering comments... we're all thrilled to have a new post to read!
HAHA. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the comments about who is who.
You must tell !!
Wonderful stuff. I cannot imagine playing any of those instruments!
ReplyDeleteLoving the music - fond memories of country dances in the rural communities of my youth and lots of music like that. I rather envy your musical talents.
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyable the music and I am not guessing who is who, only to make the observation there must have been a movement from the hippy part of Hebden Bridge to your corner of the world ;)
